Part of the Redemption of Wist Trilogy – Book 2 of 3

Pyrite – Fool’s gold as it is otherwise known.  When I came to write this I had the plan I had created for the trilogy when I wrote Tapasya, but I felt the need to stress my protagonists.  To do this Aviti and Wist needed to travel their own individual, if parallel paths to their doom (or destiny, depending on how things go).

And this time there would be war.

Oh and why Pyrite?  As well as not being what it appears, the word itself means “stone or mineral which strikes fire”.  So keep an eye out for that as you read.

Synopsis

A black sun arrives to threaten Pyrite as Wist and Aviti land in the northern continent, still pursuing Tilden.

Separated when they land, Aviti is enslaved by the relentless Intoli that have come from the frozen wastes of Prasad to wage war on the native Giants. Meanwhile, Wist’s need for revenge threatens his sanity and his comrades.

Trapped on opposing sides of a war, they must find their own paths to freedom, or allow Pyrite to fall under the influence of the black sun and Tilden’s Allies, the deathless Waren

Reviews

This book really got my emotions and I don’t think I’ll ever get over one particular incident but this just shows how gripping the story is, how brilliant the characters are and how great the writing is.

Closing Thoughts

When I published the first Redemption of Wist book, Tapasya, I took a deep breath. It had been over five years from typing the first word to publication. Then I considered what to do next. Should I start another series? I had the ideas, too many ideas in all honesty, and I started planning a few different projects out and even wrote the opening chapter of my current WIP (work in progress), but my attention kept drifting back to Wist.

I knew the characters of that world like old friends, I had the story that I needed to tell in my head (and in MANY colourful notebooks), but I needed the push to get going. A bit like Bilbo sitting in bag end. With fewer breakfasts. Then came an email from a reader. When was book 2 going to be available? They were desperate to find out the fate of the company and the answer to the questions that book 1 provided. And that was the spark that set the kindling ablaze. Soon Pyrite was underway and the tale of Wist’s fool’s gold had begun. This would be the book of war and conflict, and some of the company, dear to my heart would not survive.
